Our Green Policy

Taste Cornwall is committed to helping to working towards reducing waste and carbon emissions. Buying local food helps the rural economy and reduces the distance your food has travelled.

When buying from a local shop you can feel safe in the knowledge that the food has not travelled ‘up-country’ for packaging and then travelled back to Cornwall. All produce stocked in the Taste Cornwall shop is sourced from within Cornwall or occasionally Devon (but only 35 miles into Devon).

To help with reducing waste all of the packaging used in the shop is recyclable and in many cases made from recycled products. We know some of you don’t like paper carrier bags and appreciate that they are not ideal when the Cornish sunshine is of the liquid variety but we are happy to provide you with cardboard boxes for your shopping or why not splash out and buy yourself a jute bag.

The staff in the shop are all local and are willing to help you with your purchases whether you visit the shop, ‘phone or buy on-line. Many people wishing to buy on-line still feel the need to speak to someone so feel free to ring 01579 344110 at any time during shop hours – 9am – 5pm Monday to Saturday inclusive.
