Terms and Conditions

It is the policy of both Taste Cornwall and the Cornish Guild of Smallholders (CGOS) to maintain the highest ethical and quality standards in everything we do.  As members of the 'Made in Cornwall' scheme, we abide by the legislation as interpreted by Cornwall Council's Trading Standards department.  Above all, we wish to be fair and reasonable.

Ownership: This website belongs to Taste Cornwall Ltd, and is protected accordingly.  We welcome linkages with our suppliers and like-minded partners, who should contact us appropriately.  Please be aware that other companies have vaguely similar names to ours, but are not, like us, part of the CGOS family.

Prices: All products shown on this website include UK Value Added Tax (VAT) at the prevailing rate, where such a tax is appropriately levied and are shown in £ Sterling.  All orders will therefore include that tax when and where appropriate.  However if a purchase is made from outside the UK, then it would be better to contact us by email identifying the products you wish to purchase and where the products are to be delivered so we can provide you with the tax free prices and the delivery costs.

Process & Data: Purchasing on-line could not be easier.  Most of you will be familiar with the browse, add items, and go to check-out routine.  Payment is via an internationally respected and fully secure card handing operation that fully protects you in every way possible.  Their security is always under review and will change / upgrade as they see fit.  CGOS and Taste Cornwall hold ONLY that data which is pertinent to your transaction, and we have no interest in selling your details of using them for any other purpose.  We have asked your permission to allow us to email you with future information, and we will respect your decision.  However, while a transaction is being processed there is a need to inform you and communicate with you.

Payment: Payment is not taken until the item(s) is ready to ship.  We will receive your order and will check availability.  Confirmation of the placement of your order does not imply that a contract exists between us.  We will subsequently accept your order (or any part of it that we can supply within a reasonable timescale) by email and at that time the contract exists.  Payment is taken when the items are either dispatched or collected.  We do not dispatch at weekends or on UK Bank Holidays

Cheques: If you wish to pay by cheque or money order, then please either telephone the shop (01579 344110) or e-mail Taste Cornwall on manager@tastecornwall.co.uk You must be aware that no products  to be paid for in this manner will be dispatched until the money has been received into the Taste Cornwall bank account.

Delivery: We have negotiated a standard set of prices for delivery within the UK mainland using an appropriate parcels carrier.   Price details can be seen under "Pickup & Delivery" elsewhere on this website. We would expect that you will receive your goods within 2 days of dispatch.  If you do not receive it within 5 days of the notification of dispatch being made, please e-mail us immediately including the order number and any reference numbers.  We will investigate and either refund or replace, as agreed with you.

Returns: The products are predominantly food items, and if anything arrives damaged or sub-standard, then please contact us immediately, preferably by e-mail on manager@tastecornwall.co.uk giving full details, order number and other reference numbers, and we will refund or replace as appropriate as agreed with you.   Any returns that are not substandard, damaged or defective will be returned at your expense.  All refunds will be in accordance with current Money Laundering Regulations.  Under Distance Selling Regulations, perishables and products where Health & Hygiene issues make re-sale unacceptable, there are limitations and exemptions, and we will be bound by those.  Your Statutory Rights are not affected.

Specials: Special items or those made bespoke for a particular occasion will require a non-returnable deposit.  That deposit is taken as a specific transaction when the order is accepted (and you have the confirmed prices etc).  Until that point there is no contract and you may cancel.  However, once the order is accepted, then the deposit payment is released to us.   When the product is ready to ship, we will contact you again seeking payment of the balance.  Once that is paid, the order will be released for dispatch, at which point your balance payment will be released to us.

Complaints Procedure:    If you have any complaint, then please contact us immediately, preferably by e-mail on manager@tastecornwall.co.uk , giving full details, order number and reference numbers, and we will attempt to resolve your complaint by either replacement or refund as appropriate and in compliance with the appropriate legislation.  We wish to be fair and reasonable, and we ask you to be the same.
